| Maximum efficiency, minimum energy consumption. Ambient and
healthy conditions are an integral part of today’s
working and living environment. Global warming points to hotter,
more humid summers and to wetter, milder winters. Offices can
become uncomfortably warm as we make greater use of workstation
technology like fax machines, lap-tops and PC’s. In response to
this, integrated air control systems are increasingly part of
the office and play an important part in staff morale and
efficiency.
Air-conditioning is set to revolutionise new build technology.
At GLP we recognise that no single air-conditioning system works
best in all environments. We analyse each project and advise our
clients on the most cost-effective, energy saving and
appropriate brand for their needs.

Large office environments are likely to benefit from a Variable
Refrigerant Volume system, where flexibility and zone control
are important. GLP is an Approved Installer of most of the major
DX based applications, including Daikin, Hitachi and Mitsubishi
VRV versions. Compared to ducted or chilled water systems, the
refrigerant pipework system distributing
the cooling and heating effects through the building, is of a
much smaller diameter.
It’s this compact sized that makes VRV systems so appealing for
restoration and refurbishment projects.
Hotels, department stores and medium to large office buildings
where there is tremendous number of people moving from area to
area are best suited to the chilled water fan coil system.
The system, although bulkier, brings the refrigerant to the
packaged water chiller and is controllable by room or zone and
highly flexible to cope with changing people circulation and
general conditions. Split systems are designed for smaller
offices, clubs, shops and restaurants where ceiling, floor or
wall mounted cassettes represent the most cost-effective
solution. |
