What is FGAS?
FGAS stands for Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases. These are powerful greenhouse gases used as refrigerants in many air conditioning and refrigeration systems. FGAS regulations were introduced in the UK in 2015 to reduce emissions of these gases and their impact on climate change.
Do I need an FGAS survey?
Legally, you need to have an annual FGAS survey if your system contains 3kg or more of FGAS refrigerant. We can also perform survey checks if your system contains less refrigerant upon request.
The survey checks:
- Refrigerant charge levels and system leaks
- Pressure testing of the system
- Checks of pipework, joints and components
- Calibration of temperature and pressure devices
We will issue you with an FGAS compliance certificate once the survey is complete, which you may need to demonstrate compliance.
